About us
I know we have an about us page, but ultimately I’m not going to delve into too much details about myself here, instead I would like to share with you what my aims are.
I can tell you that all of my aims and missions came from our own personal experience whilst suffering from chid to parent abuse and violence. We feel that there were many failings from professionals, involved in our and our families care – and the ultimate aim is to raise awareness of a stigmatised issue, and to support other families who are in the same boat.
Our mission includes
– Raising awareness of child to parent violence and abuse
– Offering emotional support to families suffering from child to parent abuse which in turn will help to reduce isolation.
– Offering advocacy where needed – this is something that is a work in progress, and something we would like to offer at a later date.
– Offering a safe space where families can share there experiences – where judgement isn’t present and where caregivers and parents feel comfortable to seek support.
We are striving to change the way child to parent abuse and violence is seen by others. We are trying to break down the barriers that stop people from accessing the right support, and we are asking for a clear pathway for families moving forwards. From our own experience it seems each service has a different view, and this is not always beneficial to families.
